Laurentian Goldfields Ltd. Corporate Update

September 18, 2008 – Laurentian Goldfields Ltd. (TSX-V: LGF) (“Laurentian” or the “Company”) is pleased to provide the following corporate update. The Company welcomes the addition of Mr. Patrick Lengyel, P.Geo., as Vice President of Exploration. Mr. Lengyel has over 20 years of experience in the exploration and mining business, having managed major projects for companies including Placer Dome (CLA) Inc., Alcoa Inc., Phelps Dodge Corp., and Noranda Exploration & Mining Co. Ltd. Mr. Lengyel has been consulting for Laurentian since the Company’s inception and has been instrumental in advancing and developing the Company’s property portfolio. Andrew Brown, Laurentian’s President and Chief Executive Officer, states, “Mr. Lengyel’s broad experience base, which ranges from conceptual and advanced prospect generation to management of multi-million dollar exploration programs makes him an excellent addition to Laurentian’s management team.”

Ms. Kim Casswell has been appointed Corporate Secretary of the Company. Ms. Casswell has been the Corporate Secretary of several public companies listed on the TSX-V and the TSX since 1994 and has played a key role in the growth of these companies. Laurentian would like to thank Ms. Christine Gregory for her contribution to the Company as interim Corporate Secretary.

The Company would also like to announce the appointment of Ms. Lara Cubitt as Manager of Corporate Communications. Ms. Cubitt completed a BA at Simon Fraser University with a Major in Economics in December 2006.

Mr. Freeman Smith did not stand for re-election to the board of directors of the Company at the Company’s annual general meeting which took place on September 11, 2008. The Company wishes Mr. Smith well in his future endeavors and would like to thank him for his contribution to the growth and development of the Company.
