Laurentian Goldfields Ltd. Appoints Dr. Mark O’Dea to the Board of Directors

February 1, 2010 — Vancouver, BC — Laurentian Goldfields Ltd. (LGF.TSX-V) (the “Company”) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Mark O’Dea to the board of directors of the Company.

Dr. O’Dea is President and CEO of Fronteer (FRG –TSX/NYSE Amex). Under Dr. O’Dea’s leadership, Fronteer has rapidly grown into a well-funded gold company with a strong operational team and a focus on future production in Nevada.

Andrew Brown, President and CEO of Laurentian states “I look forward to drawing on Mark’s valuable company-building experience as we chart a course for the future growth of Laurentian.”

Pursuant to the terms of the Company’s stock option plan, Mr. O’Dea has been granted 200,000 incentive stock options exercisable at $0.17 per share for a period of five years.
