Laurentian Goldfields Ltd. and Anglogold Ashanti Ltd. Advance Superior Alliance

December 9, 2009 — Vancouver, BC – Laurentian Goldfields Ltd. (LGF:TSX-V) (“Laurentian”) is pleased to announce that it has fulfilled the terms for Year 1 of the Superior Alliance with AngloGold Ashanti Ltd. (please see news release dated April 29, 2009). The Year 2 follow-up exploration program has commenced with AngloGold funding $1.7 million. The Superior Alliance is a 3 year, $5.4 million exploration alliance focused on grassroots gold target generation in Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba and Saskatchewan.

“We are pleased to report that within eight months of initiating the Superior Alliance, Laurentian has delivered targets of sufficient merit to warrant accelerating the second year of exploration,” states Andrew Brown, President and CEO of Laurentian. “We are confident that Year 2 exploration will advance at least one new target to the drill-ready stage in 2010.”
